HOLE IN THE WOODS FARM AND MEATS IS A SOUTHERN MARYLAND FARM LOCATED IN ST. MARY’S COUNTY.  WE ARE A FAMILY FARM THAT RAISES BEEF AND PORK FOR RE-SALE TO CONSUMERS WHO WANT TO KNOW WHERE THEIR MEAT COMES FROM AND HOW IT IS RAISED.  

GROWTH PROCESS: At Hole In The Woods Farm and Meats all of our cattle are born on the farm and raised for meat production.  They spend 6-8 months with the mother cow until weaning.  The weaning takes place along a fence divided pasture to make the process gradual instead of the shock of total separation.  The weanlings are raised in a pasture environment with grass, hay as necessary, grain and clean water. Any calf that requires the use of antibiotics for any reason is removed from the herd.  All of our cattle are easy to handle and are accustomed to people.  Spending the extra time with the cattle make them calm, reduces stress to the animal and makes life for us easier in the long run and provides for a better quality product.   Hole In The Woods Farm and Meats purchases feeder pigs from reliable breeders and are bought to our facility to be fed out in a controlled manner.
